Fentanyl, heroin mix could be cause of latest overdoses

Local police and EMS responded to five overdose-related calls in a two-day period, including one fatality. Police believe all of the overdoses except one were related to heroin.

“Obviously there is a bad batch of heroin going around the county right now with that many overdoses in the same time period,” Carrollton Police Chief Mike Willhoite said. “More than likely, it came from the same distributor, so we are going to investigate and try to determine who sold the heroin those people. If we find out, we will try to seek federal charges.”
