Hwy. 55 bridge closes Tuesday for two months

Hwy. 55 will be closed at the 4.6 mile marker to thru traffic beginning Tuesday, July 16. The bridge over Major’s Run Creek will be replaced as part of the Bridging Kentucky program. The $531,000 project was awarded to Louisville Paving Company. The road closure was originally slated for 75 days, but is now expected to be closed for only 60 days. The road should reopen to traffic on Sept. 15.

A signed detour will be in place using I-71 between KY 389 and the U.S. 421 interchanges.
