An accident involving a tanker truck on Interstate 71 has the southbound lanes blocked this morning.

Kentucky State Police report that the unidentified driver of the truck has been transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital by Carroll County EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

KSP is attempting to re-route traffic on Exits 55 and 57, to use U.S. 42. Trooper Dave Roberts said that once diesel fuel at the scene is cleaned up, KSP will try to reopen a lane to traffic.

Traffic is currently backed up about two miles on the interstate.

Ghent Assistant Fire Chief Robert Hoffman said the truck was carrying milk. M&M Towning is on the scene.

Carroll County Sheriff's Office will be investigating the accident.
