Another Reason to be Thankful begins Friday

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and there are a lot of events going on in Carrollton!  The Main Street Program kicks off it's annual " Another Reason to be Thankful" on November 19th.  Merchants have donated over $600 in items or gift cards for a gift basket to be given away.  You can stop by any of the participating merchants and sign up, and no purchase is necessary.  Several businesses will be having an open house on the 19th & 20th, with discounts and refreshments being offered.

Christmas Carroll and Parade

Also, the Chamber is planning the annual Christmas Parade again this year.  Anyone interested in participating is welcome.  All we ask is that you decorate your car, truck, float, etc. in a Christmas theme.  You can decorate them with a wreath, a bow, or anything as elaborate as you like.  All we ask is that there not be any "Santas", as the children wouldn't know what to think if there was more than one!  Arrangements have already been made to have Santa there, and pictures will be available after the parade.

Help Spread Christmas Cheer for everyone!

This is also a time of year, when efforts are underway to help those less fortunate.  Several opportunites are available, including the Community Christmas Project, Scouting for Food, and Shop with a Cop.  The Community Christmas Project in coordination with the Carroll County Ministerial Association helps provide Christmas gifts for children in the county.  A donation of $100 sponsors a child, and there are many more children on the list this year.   Scouting for Food will collect donations this Saturday of non-perishable food items.  This helps to feed the hungry all year long.  If everyone gives a little, we can all have a Merry Christmas, and make the new year brighter as well.
