Three Carroll County students have been charged with terroristic threatening after making a suspicious phone call Jan. 23.

At about 9 p.m., Carrollton Police Department was contacted by an individual who had received a call from a blocked number. The caller made a comment about “shooting up the school,” according to a Carroll County School District Facebook post Jan. 23. No school was mentioned by name.

“Based on our investigation, there never was a credible threat to any school in the district,” Chief Mike Willhoite said in an interview Jan. 24.
