Trimble players contribute mightily as Henry All Stars win Bardstown tournament

The Henry County 10-Year-Old All Star team, comprised of six players from Trimble County and three from Henry County, went undefeated to win the Summer Heat Baseball Tournament held in Bardstown on the weekend of July 24-25.

In pool play on Saturday, the team defeated Shelby County 11-1 and went on to face Fern Creek, where the game was called for time limit.

On Sunday, The team began in the King seat with a bye in round one. In round two, they found themselves playing against Nelson County, finishing 9-2, putting them in the final game against Fern Creek, where they finished the tournament with a 12-2 victory.

Overall, the team outscored their opponents 40-13 in four games.

The Allstars were led in pitching by Jaydon Berry and Dawson Porter with 18 innings pitched, and striking out 40 batters with no earned runs allowed.

Leading hitters, all from Trimble County, were Dawson Porter (.890), Reese Poe (.600), and David Duncan (.570). Berry and Porter let the team with 18 runs scored in four games.
