It seems that more and more people are falling into the role of being a caregiver. According to AARP in 2015, 32.2 million Americans currently provide care to adults age 50 and over. This is due to the decrease of deaths from heart disease and stroke, increase in the five year cancer survival rate, and the cost of institutional care is getting more expensive. As the population ages, it is estimated that women could spend more years caring for their aging parents than they did for their children. Even though most caregivers are women, about one-third of caregivers are men.
