    Back in the day, it was rubber-necking or as simple activities such as talking to passengers or eating — but today’s drivers face more challenges than ever before with the capability of electronics, specifically a smartphone.

  • Celebrating Seuss

    Carroll County Public LIbrary and the Carroll County Early Childhood Council sponsored the Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash Feb. 27, at Kathryn Winn Primary. There were 130 children that signed, along with 107 adults, totaling 237. The event included games and activities by several local businesses and organizations, as well as a magic show by Family Time Entertainment. Every child received a free book, and birthday cupcakes were available to everyone.

    Hello once again, my friends. As I sit here typing this month’s article I can look out the window and see the melting snow. Only a few days ago it was coming down, covering everything in the soft winter blanket. And yet, as I look out at the shining sun, melting the piles of pushed up snow I can only think about the warmer weather just around the corner.

    The Life in Carrollton Ministries, in Carrollton is holding a RNNL8 BBQ fundraiser. They will be  offering  box lunches catered by Ma Tiller’s Catering, Saturday, March 5.

  • Masons to serve up breakfasts

    Carrollton Masonic Lodge will offer its “all you can eat” breakfast from 8-10 a.m., both Saturday March 5, and Saturday April 2, at the lodge on Marwill Drive in Carrollton.

    Carroll County dispatcher Amanda C. Webster was one of 24 telecommunicators to graduate Feb. 19, from the Public Safety Dispatch Academy at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.
