  • Enjoy a meal that is both light and hearty this winter

    Hello once again, my friends. As I sit typing this article, I can’t help but look out the window. The snow-covered ground is glistening in the faint light. My first thought when looking out is this: if you can’t get excited about cooking this time of year, when literally nothing else is going on, you might be a lost cause.

  • Relay for Life kickoff, quarter auction

    Relay for Life, Carrollton will kick off the Relay season with a unique Quarter Auction, 6-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 5, at Carrollton United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 310 Highland Ave. in Carrollton.

  • Blood donations urgently needed

    The American Red Cross urgently needs blood donors. Eligible blood donors of all types are needed, especially those with O, AB, B negative and A negative.

  • “Frozen” party

    Carroll County Public Library and Carroll County Panther Tots hosted a “Frozen” party Jan. 13, at the library. An estimated 182 people attended, with 82 children signed up. The event provided a meal catered by Ma Tiller’s Catering and several activities for children ages birth to five years old. Children were encouraged to dress up as their favorite “Frozen” character.
