    A Time of Praise and Worship will be held at White’s Run Baptist Church, 4690 KY Hwy. 36E in Carrollton, 6 p.m., Sunday, May 20. Dave Stahl is the Music Evangelist. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. A love offering will be received.

  • The Second Continental Congress in 1775, established a National Day of Prayer which we celebrate the first Thursday in May. Hundreds of thousands of people across the country, many different faiths and denominations, nationalities, ethnic groups and ages, participated in prayer for our country.

  • Anyone paying attention to the news in recent weeks has heard how DNA testing has been used to solve a four-decades-old case involving a serial killer and serial rapist who terrorized residents in California in the 1970s and 1980s.

    I expect that it will, someday, be made into a movie – it’s just that intriguing.

  • Benefit for Jeremy’s Journey will be held from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Westside Volunteer Fire Department, 680 Old Carlisle Rd.

    Jeremy Hazelwood is a junior at Carroll County High School and plays saxophone in the marching band and pep band. He was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, a very rare and agressive cancer, on Jan. 24, 2018. It was found in his right elbow. He will undergo seven chemo treatments over 22 weeks and also is receiving radiation treatments.
