• Verda Delbert Crafton, 85

    BEDFORD, Ky. – Verda Delbert Crafton, 85, of Bedford died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hanover, Ind.

    Services were Friday, Oct. 17, at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Ind., with the Rev. Vickie Perkins officiating. Burial was in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Ky.

    Full military honors were conducted at graveside by Jefferson Post No. 9 of the American Legion.

    Mr. Crafton was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Trimble County to the late Wilbur and Laura (Williams) Crafton.

    WILLIAMSTOWN, Ky. – William H. “Billy” Ford, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Grant Manor in Williamstown.

    Services were Monday, Oct 20 at Ransdell Funeral Home, 7101 Campbells-burg Road, Campbells-burg, Ky., with the Rev. Carl Rucker officiating. Burial was in Port Royal Cemetery, Port Royal, Ky. Military honors were conducted at graveside.

    Mr. Ford was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Henry County to the late Arthur and Eliza Ford.

  • Tim G. Keller, 48

    Tim G. Keller, 48, of Bedford, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at Baptist Hospital North East in LaGrange.

    Born April 14, 1960 in Texas, he was the son of William Henry and Marie Clark Keller.

    Tim was a Constable in Trimble County. He also enjoyed hunting, croquet, and church softball.

  • Kenneth C. Wood, 77

    CARROLLTON, Ky. – Kenneth C. Wood, 77, of Carrollton died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at New Horizons Assisted Living Center in Carrollton.

    Services were Monday, Oct. 20, at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with Dr. Bob Brocious officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Carrollton.

    Mr. Wood was born March 26, 1931, to the late William Alexander and Ella Florence (Bell) Wood in Falmouth, Pendleton County, Ky.

    He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

    James Richard Troxell, 76, of Seymour, Ind., died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Ind. Inpatient Facility, Columbus, Bartholomew County, Ind.

    Services will be tomorrow, August 7, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Ransdell Funeral Home, in Campbellsburg.

    Visitation will be today, Wednesday, August 6 from 7-8 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until time of service at Ransdell Funeral Home, US 421 S, Campbellsburg.

    Burial will follow at Eminence Cemetery, Eminence.

    SANDERS, Ky. – Helen Virginia Edens, 89, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at St. Elizabeth South Hospital in Edgewood, Ky.

    Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 20, at McDonald-New Funeral home, 202 N. Main St., Owenton, Ky., with Susan Bryan and Hardin Lowe officiating. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.

    Mrs. Edens was born Aug. 25, 1919, to the late Robert Sayle and Mary Virginia (Bourne) Garvey in Sanders.

    She was a postal clerk in Sanders from 1985-2001. She also worked as a beautician.

    Mrs. Edens was a member of  Sanders Baptist Church.

    D’Ette Kimberly “Tootie” Hockensmith Brawner, 48, of Madison, Ind., died Thursday July 31, 2008 at her residence.

    Born April 3, 1960 in Madison, she was the daughter of Leroy “Lee” and Betty Canfield Hockensmith. A lifelong resident of Madison she attended the Dupont Baptist Church for several years as a child. She was an employee of the former Hook’s Drug Store for 15 years. She became a licensed hairstylist and worked for The Hair Shak for 10 years.

    Dolores L. Maddox, 78, of Hanover, Ind., died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover.

    Born July 18, 1930 in Louisville, she was the daughter of John M. and Olivia M. Morgan Coons. She graduated from North Madison High School and worked for many years as bookkeeper for the former Jay’s Market in Madison.

    She was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church near Hanover.

    Robert “Bobby” Cyrus Robbins, 61, of Carrollton died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at his home.

    Born Jan. 4, 1947, in Carrollton, he was the son of the late Carl and Scottie Ball Robbins.

    He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 134, Carrollton. He was a veteran of the U.S. military, having served in Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
