  • School board OKs district facility plan

    The Carroll County Board of Education approved the draft of the district’s facility plan at its regular meeting Thursday night.

    The big project that’s part of this biennium is construction at the Carroll County Area Technology Center. The center was opened in 1969 and principal Rachel Mefford said that as far she knows there has not been any upgrades to the facility other than repairs and configuration changes.

  • FFA Agriculture Celebration Day set for Sunday

    Carroll County High School FFA will celebrate the community’s agricultural past and present at a free Sunday event set for the school campus.

    The FFA’s Agriculture Day is noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the high school in the field across from the football field featuring an afternoon packed with fun and learning for the family.

  • FFA earns Gold Emblem award at annual state convention, meeting

    Carroll County High School FFA is one of 76 local chapters being honored at the 2019 annual state convention in Lexington.

    The Carroll County FFA is one of 72 receiving the Gold Emblem award, which honors the organization for its activities during the 2018-19 school year. Each gold, silver and bronze emblem chapter will receive a special plaque awarded by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

    Friday, May 3: Cartmell and Winn Breakfast: Egg eggstravaganza, toast, apple cinnamon toast, orange and 100% fruit juice; Lunch: Hot dog, BBQ on bun, baked beans, potato smiles, banana, sour watermelon Raisels and sour orange Raisels, CCMS and CCHS will offer waffle fries instead of potato smiles.

  • Livingood to continue as designee

    In addition to Interim Carroll County School District Superintendent, Interim Carroll County Area Technology Center Principal, and Interim Carroll County High School Principal, Dr. Ron Livingood has added Superintendent Designee to his resume. With Carroll County School District Superintendent Danny Osborne recovering from an automobile accident, Livingood is in charge of the district’s day-to-day operations under Osborne’s direction.

  • Covington starts as CCHS principal

    Joshua Covington began his duties as principal of Carroll County High School, April 29.

    Covington comes to Carrollton after serving the past two years as the coach of the Shawnee Academy In Louisville.

    Although he is an educator he said has been focused on being an administrator.

  • Schools plan summer food service

    Carroll County School Nutrition is participating in the summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at a first come, first serve basis, at Carroll County High School, breakfast 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Tuesday – Friday, June 4-7: Monday – Friday, June 10- 14 and Monday – Friday, June 17-21.
