• Winn Primary Kindergarten registration held Mar. 16

    Kindergarten registration will be held March 16, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Kathryn Winn Primary School.

    Children must attend with parents or caregivers.

  • Celebrating Seuss

    Carroll County Public LIbrary and the Carroll County Early Childhood Council sponsored the Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash Feb. 27, at Kathryn Winn Primary. There were 130 children that signed, along with 107 adults, totaling 237. The event included games and activities by several local businesses and organizations, as well as a magic show by Family Time Entertainment. Every child received a free book, and birthday cupcakes were available to everyone.

  • Registration seminar for current eighth-graders at CCHS March 3

    The guidance department of Carroll County High School is sponsoring a registration seminar for parents of students who will attend Carroll County High School next school year. Current eighth-grade parents and students will meet with the guidance counselor and career counselor on Thursday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place in the CCHS cafeteria, and dinner will be provided.

    Thursday, Feb. 25: Breakfast: Chicken biscuit or mini cinnis and apple; lunch: Pork bites, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots with roll, grapes or pineapple tidbits. Carroll County Middle and High School will offer country-fried steak with gravy instead of pork bites for lunch.

  • CCMS gym still a top concern for Board of Ed

    The lack of progress on the middle school project and other concerns about the project were the focus of the Feb. 18 Carroll County Board of Education meeting.

    Carroll County Schools Superintendent Bill Hogan said there is not much going on outside at the middle school, mainly due to the weather. “The project is progressing very slowly,” Hogan said.

  • Community members volunteer to help create strategic plan

    The Carroll County School District is in the midst of a strategic planning process that will clarify its goals for helping make Carroll County a great place to live. Several community members are going through the process to help school administrators map out the district’s five-year goals and objectives.
