    Thursday, March 1: Breakfast: French toast sticks with syrup and yogurt or banana bread with yogurt or Pop Tarts and apple; Lunch: Penne pasta with meat sauce or chicken Alfredo, breadstick, steamed broccoli, steamed carrots, Mandarin oranges, or pineapple.

    Friday, March 2: Breakfast: Donut or Pop Tarts and banana; Lunch: Chicken drumstick with roll, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, banana or Craisins.

    Friday, Feb. 23: Breakfast: Cinnamon roll or Pop Tarts and banana; Lunch: Roast beef and gravy with roll or grilled cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, banana or fruit sorbet.

    Monday, Feb. 26: Breakfast: Breakfast pizza or banana bread or Trix yogurt with granola or Pop Tarts, orange; Lunch: Grilled chicken with Swiss cheese or turkey with Swiss cheese on ciabatta bread, tater tots, chilled broccoli/carrots, applesauce or pear halves.

  • Rumble on the River

    On Feb. 10, Carroll County High School hosted the “Rumble on the River” State Qualifying VEX Robotics event for the first time in the event’s history. There were more than 350 people in attendance. There were 55 teams, made up of 3-4 students each, 100 volunteers and 50-100 coaches and spectators, according to event coordinator and CCHS teacher Mollie Shirley.

    “We had some pretty tough competition,” Shirley said of the results. CCHS and iLEAD Academy students did not take any official awards home in the Rumble on the River event.

  • Lockdown drill held Feb. 21, at CCHS, CCMS

    The Carroll County High School and Carroll County Middle School held a lock down drill Wednesday, Feb. 21, to practice for emergency situations.

    In conjunction with the drill, the Carrollton Police Department's K-9 units, and personnel from the school conducted a search for illegal drugs in the hallways and parking lots of each school, according to a CPD news release.

    As a result of the search a 17-year-old male juvenile was charged for possession of marijuana that was found in a vehicle in the parking lot of the high school.

    Friday, Feb. 16: Breakfast, Donut or Pop Tarts and banana; Lunch: Fish patty on bun or corn dog, macaroni and cheese, steamed broccoli, cole slaw, Mandarin oranges, or Craisins.

    Monday, Feb. 19: Presidents’ Day, no school

  • Fall 2017 Dean’s List released by the University of Kentucky

    The University of Kentucky has released its Dean’s List for the Fall 2017 semester.  The Carroll County students recognized for this outstanding academic performance were the following: Rhiannon Amanda Jones, Makena B. Kindoll, Eliann Elizabeth Yocum, William Thomas Wallace, Noah D. Abercrombie and Kelsey B. Ogden.

  • Western Kentucky University Dean’s and President’s lists

    The following Western Kentucky University students from Carroll County were named to the Dean’s and President’s List: Taylor N. Courtney, Levi M. Stephenson, Savanna N. Martinez*, Sierra M. Martinez*, Hannah M. McMahan* and Haley M. Bartley.*

    Students making the Dean’s List have a grade-point average of 3.4 to 3.79 in a 4.0 scale.

    Students on the President’s List have GPAs of 3.8 to 4.0 and are indicated by an asterisk (*).

  • Ag Tag donations benefit FFA, 4-H

    Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles announced that voluntary “ag tag” donations in the 2017 fiscal year that ended June 30, amounted to $629,865.43, setting a record for the largest amount donated since the program began.

    The voluntary donations are divided equally among Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA, and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
