  • TOPS celebrates 25 years in the county

    Editor:

I want to wish Friends Helping Friends, formerly Tops Ky. No. 529 a happy belated 25th birthday.

This chapter was brought to Carrollton March 12, 1994. We are a weight loss support group. The group does not have a magic wand to wave to make you your old slim self. It does however support you in whatever weight loss plan you choose.

  • Public library should not be ‘babysitting’

    Editor:

Locals compliment us on our kid’s good behavior everywhere we go. Being polite gentlemen in public is a minimum expectation we have of them, and their privileges are conditional on meeting it. I don’t believe that giving my kids free pizza and movies every day would inspire excellence in them. Why act right, if you are unconditionally rewarded?

  • Superintendent praises school board members

    Editor:

January is School Board Recognition Month, and I want to take this opportunity to personally recognize our own.

Members of the Carroll County Board of Education, elected by the people, are responsible for our community’s most precious resource and the key to its future – our children and their educational opportunities.

Board members serve for many different reasons. Since board members live in our community, they have a vested interest in a successful school system and in the economic and social health of Carroll County.

  • Thanks extended

    Editor:

The residents and staff at Carrollton Manor would like to thank Ten Mile Association, Open Door Baptist Church, United Methodist Church, Second Baptist Church, Carrollton Wesleyan Churcdh, Perry Park Communty, Kroger’s, First Baptist Church, Fairview Place, Colbert Family, Carroll County Fiscal Court, Carroll County Jailer John Proctor and anyone else I might have missed. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas because of all the kind people that helped out again. Thank you all so much.
