• Keep Carrollton clean, reader suggests

I moved to Carrollton seven years ago from Pennsylvania and have enjoyed living here, there is so much to enjoy with the two rivers, beautiful flowering trees in the spring, Point Park, and I must say very friendly people.

Recently I saw an article that stated Carrollton was numbered in the top ten Ghetto towns in Kentucky and I wondered why, when it is such a nice little town to live in.

  • Thanks to all who donated to relief effort

A giant thank you! I just wanted to follow up on my Houston rescue trip by saying thank you to all of you who helped me make it so enormously successful.

From cash donations, to supplies, to prayers and words of encouragement, the trailer was so jam-packed, we needed a bigger truck to handle it. Our recipients were so touched.

  • Rand had chance to fight for state pensions

It is funny to hear Rep. Rick Rand suddenly interested in keeping the state’s promises to teachers and state workers. Under his watch as House Budget Chairman, the State Legislature consistently neglected workers by failing to fund their retirement and raiding funds from their health insurance. He has no credibility to attack the current leadership that is working to clean up the mess left by himself and Gov. [Steve] Beshear.
