  • Panthers come from behind to defeat Williamstown

    It was a tale of two halves in more ways than one Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Panther Field. The first half was a sunny and mild night, but the Carroll County Panthers soccer team found themselves in unfamiliar territory–trailing 1-0 to Williamstown. With the second half came a steady rain and cooler temperatures, but also a more focused Panthers’ team as they scored two goals to pull off the come-from-behind win 2-1.

  • Volleyball shutout against W-V

    The last four matches have been a little tough for the Lady Panther volleyball team. They have been shut out in the last four matches, with the most recent a 2-0 (25-8, 25-16) loss to Walton-Verona, Aug. 27.

    “We cannot get off to a quick start where we gain some confidence,” Carroll County head coach Lynn Eaglin said after the loss to Walton-Verona.

    Senior Jordan Ray got Carroll off to a 2-0 lead in the first set before Walton went on a six-point run to take a 6-2 lead. A service error gave the serve back to Carroll.

  • Panthers fall in quadruple overtime

    There have been a lot of exciting games in the longstanding rivalry between the Henry County and Carroll County football teams and the one hosted by Henry County Friday night might have been one of the best.

    The Wildcats and Panthers played 48 minutes of smash mouth football and still needed four extra periods of play to decide a winner, defeating Carroll 24-18 Aug. 24.

  • Lady Panthers soccer defeats Switzerland County, 3-0

    The Carroll County Lady Panther soccer team has had a feast or famine season so far. They either are winning by shutting out their opponents or the opponents are shutting them out.

    The trend continued as Carroll County freshman goalie Ashlyn Davis turned in her second shutout in four games as Carroll defeated Switzerland County 3-0 Aug. 20, to even their record at two wins and two losses.

    “How about that, two wins in seven days,” Carroll County head coach Josh Noble said. It took the Lady Panthers 13 games last year to achieve two wins.

  • Panthers golf drops two matches; Lady Panthers are 2-2 in August

    Carroll County Boys golf lost matches to Trimble County, Aug. 14, and Western Hills, Aug. 21, by identical scores last week, 195-211.

    Adam Froman was medalist for Carroll County at Trimble County with a 47. Josh Adams carded a 50. Dane Lacefield and Connor Hartman both had a score of 57 to complete the team scoring. Kennedy Daigle shot a 69 for the Panthers.

    The home match against Western Hills had Froman and Adams carding a 47 for team medalist honors. Lacefield had a 58 and Hartman had a 59 for the team score. Daigle scored a 60.

  • Lady Panthers struggle to recover from sluggish start

    After a big win against Dayton Wednesday, Friday night’s game against Villa Madonna was a letdown for the Lady Panthers soccer team, losing 4-0.

  • Football drops season opener

    The Carroll County Panthers’ football season didn’t start out the way they had hoped, losing on the road 28-14 to Ludlow. The Carroll County Panthers were without five starters for at least one quarter, giving the Ludlow Panthers a significant advantage.

  • Volleyball falls to Williamstown, 3-0

    The Lady Panthers volleyball team came out flat against Williamstown, leading to their first home loss of the season (2-3) Aug. 14. Carroll County had won the last seven matches against Williamstown, with their last loss coming Sept. 12, 2015, in the All ‘A’ Tournament.

  • Lady Panthers soccer shuts out visiting Dayton, 4-0

    Carroll County Lady Panthers soccer opened their home schedule with a shutout victory over Dayton, 4-0, Aug. 15. It was the Lady Panthers’ first win over the Lady Devils since their first matchup in 2013, when Carroll won 3-1.
