  • Lady Panthers score district win over Eminence, 50-21

    Offensive execution and overall good defense led to a 50-21 Carroll County win over visiting Eminence Saturday, Jan. 14.

    The Lady Panthers shot 41 percent (18-44) from the field and hit five 3-pointers (5-16) in the game. Carroll outscored Eminence in every quarter except the third and outrebounded their opponent 36-23. They committed 15 turnovers, compared to 17 for the Lady Warriors.

  • Carroll loses road games at Gallatin

    Carroll County High School’s boys and girls basketball teams fell short against Gallatin County High School over the weekend. The Panthers lost 67-40 Friday night, while the Lady Panthers lost 48-31 Saturday afternoon.

    The Wildcats outscored the Panthers 20-12 in the first quarter and the Panthers were unable to catch up. The Panthers shot 36 percent (18-50) from the field and shot just five free throws (3-5) and committed 27 turnovers. Gallatin outrebounded Carroll 35-17, including 11 offensive to five for Carroll.

  • Lady Panthers win, Panthers lose at Henry County

    Girls defeat Henry

    The Lady Panthers (4-10) scored a district road win Jan. 3, defeating Henry County (2-12) 50-40. Carroll shot 36 percent (18-50) from the field, including six 3-pointers. The girls also hit 61.5 percent (8-13) from the free throw line.

    Abigail Aulbach led the team with a double-double, 13 points and 12 rebounds. She is currently ranked 16th in the state in rebounding, averaging 11.4 rebounds per game.

  • Panthers fall in All ‘A’ tourney

    The Carroll County Panthers did not fare as well against Williamstown as the Lady Panthers, as the boys’ team dropped a 72-56 decision in the first round of the 8th Region All ‘A’ Classic, Jan. 10, at Walton-Verona High School.

    Williamstown jumped out to a 12-point lead as they doubled up Carroll County in the first quarter 24-12.

    Carroll cut the lead down to eight points by halftime, 37-29.

  • Lady Panthers defeat Williamstown in All ‘A’

    The Lady Panthers defeated Williamstown in the All ‘A’ 45-34, Jan. 9.

    Williamstown defeated Carroll County, Dec. 21, 57-50 in the South Oldham Dragonfest Hoops Tournament.

    In the Dec. 2, game Williamstown star Michaela Kennedy rocked the Panthers for 27 second-half points as part of her game-high 33 points.

    The Panthers held Kennedy to 12 points thanks to a change in defensive strategy by Carroll County head coach Paul Stone.

  • Poor execution key to loss to Gallatin, 45-35, in tourney

    While they improved since their first match-up, the Lady Panthers struggled to execute consistently against the Gallatin County Lady Wildcats, losing 45-35 in the third round of the North American Stainless Holiday Classic Dec. 30.

  • Miscues huge in Carroll’s eight-point loss to Adair

    Turnovers, offensive rebounds and a five-minute-plus drought were too much to overcome for the Carroll County Lady Panthers, as Adair County defeated them 57-49 in the second round of the North American Stainless Holiday Classic Dec. 29, at CCHS.

  • Central Hardin outscores Carroll in 4th to win game

    After three quarters of both teams struggling to score and committing turnovers, Central Hardin outscored Carroll County 22-7 in the fourth quarter to win 50-32 in the first round of the North American Stainless Holiday Classic Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Carroll County High School.
