Carroll County softball halted a four-game skid with a 10-2 win over Williamstown on Monday, April 29.

Facing a one-run deficit, Carroll County pushed three runs across in the top half of the second inning to take the lead for good.

Madi Groves pitched and posted the win for Carroll, limiting Williamstown to two runs on six hits with three strikeouts.

Carroll County scored 10 runs on 16 hits. Taylor Butler had three hits, Audrey Carli two hits and three RBIs, Brook Brewer two hits and one RBI, Daihana Franco-Zacarias two hits and one RBI and Brinley Couch a hit and an RBI.

Carroll had dropped a one-run decision to 31st District foe Owen County, 11-10 on Thursday, April 25 in a back and forth game between the two rivals until Owen outscored Carroll 6-1 over the final two innings to battle back and claim the win.

Madi Groves pitched for Carroll and suffered the loss in the circle with five strikeouts over six innings.

Carroll scored 10 runs on 14 hits. Groves and Butler both had three hits and two RBIs, Macy Coghill had three hits and an RBI, Couch had two hits and two RBIs and Lyric Scruggs and Jade Taylor had an RBI each. Butler and Couch both lashed doubles.

Carroll, now 3-8, 1-4 31st District, was set for four straight district game with Henry County on Wednesday and Thursday and Eminence on May 7 and May 9.
